The Material

Launched in October 2007, Eastman Tritan™ is known as a new-generation copolyester that delivers a unique balance of properties, including ease of processing, clarity, toughness, heat and chemical resistance. This unique balance of properties offers superior performance and design flexibility compared with other clear thermoplastics, including polycarbonate (PC), styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) and acrylics.

Tritan copolyester is a tough, innovative polymer that provides a unique blend of processing and performance properties, including clarity, toughness , dishwasher durability, heat and chemical resistance.

The unique and proprietary chemistry of Eastman Tritan copolyester does not use or generate bisphenol A (BPA) in the manufacturing process making it BPA-free—a plus for industrial designers and their brands! The processability of Tritan also allows for more innovative and intricate shapes and pattern in addition to a wider selection of vibrant colors and tints.
