In São Paulo, Brazil, the infant care company, Lolly Baby, is launching a new product line that promises to be a big hit. Bottles, pacifiers and sip cups produced with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester are available.
"For Brazilian moms and dads, it is essential that infant care products maintain a luxurious and extremely glasslike appearance, which conveys safety," says the director of marketing and sales for Lolly Baby, Nélio Rodrigues Loatti.
Lolly Baby’s material choice was Tritan™ copolyester because it provides an excellent balance of properties, providing the infant care market products with greater clarity, toughness, and better resistance to heat and chemicals if compared to PC and other materials.
And it’s manufactured without bisphenol-A (BPA).
"Lolly gained additional benefits regarding the change from polycarbonate (PC) to Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, such as reducing bottle weight by 2 to 3 percent, due to the lower density of Tritan compared to polycarbonate, resulting in less consumption of resin and increasing product sustainability," says Jefferson Garbelotti, Latin America sales manager for Eastman Specialty Plastics Business Organization.
"Working with Eastman and using Eastman Tritan™ copolyester has allowed us to satisfy our clients' needs with innovative products, in addition to helping us raise awareness among Brazilian society regarding a BPA free product for the infant care market," adds Loatti.
