Anna Pegova and The Glass Polymer

Brazilians are fun loving people, known for their joie de vivre. But when it comes to their appearance and taking care of themselves, they’re quite serious. Savvy about style and beauty, Brazilian women take pride in looking their best.

It’s no coincidence that French cosmetics brand, Anna Pegova, has a longstanding foothold in the Brazilian market. Known for cutting-edge innovation in skin care products, Anna Pegova captures the essence of what women want – purity, richness, clarity, radiance.

The company recently introduced smart new packaging for a collection of products, enhancing their luxury appeal. The newly designed bottles are produced with The Glass Polymer™ from Eastman, giving a smooth, caressing feel with the shimmering sparkle of glass.

Designer Jacques Llorente created a sleek, round flask with a dimple pattern around the edge. “The round face is linked with perfection and it’s the starting point of all shapes in the creative world,” says Llorente. “The dimpled effect gives the look of crystal-cut edges.”

Aesthetics are just one “wow” factor.

“The Glass Polymer™ seems to mold better when compared to glass,” says Llorente, noting that the resin allows major wall thickness, color stability and is lightweight compared to glass.

“I never felt limited by the material,” adds Llorente, who has created packaging for brands such as Yves Rocher, Hermès and Etienne Aigner.

The extrusion blow-molded flasks are manufactured in Brazil by MBF Embalagens in white, clear, tinted orange, and blue for Anna Pegova lotions, moisturizing liquid soap and cleansing emulsion products. A cylindrical bottle is produced from the resin for hypoallergenic body deodorant.

“We are pleased at the results we have achieved when using Eastman’s resins in the manufacturing of some of the bottles comprised in our product lines,” says Maya Hanna Maalouf, Anna Pegova marketing director.

Anna Pegova’s formulas call for the purest ingredients, often a perfect blend of exotic plant extracts. The careful selection of elemental components for skin care is a mark of perfection left by pioneering founder, Anna Pegova, on the company that bears her name.

An enterprising visionary, Anna Pegova fled her native Russia during the Russian revolution and opened her first beauty institute in Paris in 1947. Her creative concepts and innovative techniques gained international exposure, and Brazil became a primary market with 40 institutes throughout the country.

Llorente is right in tune with the cosmetic world when he says, “Innovating does not mean being satisfied with what already exists, but always trying to make it better.”

After all, Brazilian women have their reputation for beauty to uphold.
