Fashion and that which is fashionable are nebulous concepts so we’re not the best judges of what’s hot and what’s not. One thing we do know is that the only constants are design talent and quality of materials. And if you provide the former, we’ll definitely throw in the latter. So ask yourself what you want, not what you need.

Eastman plastics and acetate yarn support the fashion industry by letting designers concentrate on style and grace – and not waste time worrying about structural details. Our materials look good and stay that way for a very long time – and we don’t just mean on Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen and Paco Rabanne fragrance bottles or acetate yarn used by Chico's to make women's wear fashionable and practical.

IDEO’s Collective Vision project used Eastman's Eastar™ and DuraStar™ copolyester plastics and Tenite® cellulosics to create a range of inspiration, go-anywhere eyewear. Called "The Natural Polymer" because it's made from the wood pulp of softwood trees, Tenite™ feels good against the skin. In fact, it feels so good that it’s been used in eyewear for nearly 80 years – though the spectacles of the 1930s don’t have much else in common with their IDEO counterparts. Tenite™ has other uses, such as the z becky brown purses currently taking Milan, Paris and New York City by storm. It’s just one of the many material differences that Eastman brings to the fashion industry.
